One of my favorite social networking platforms is LinkedIn.

Have you recently been scrambling to get all your profiles up on a variety of online networking platforms?  If not, it might be a good time to start.

Most of us start with very basic information on our profiles, which is fine, especially when just starting out.  It gives you a chance to secure your personal or business name before someone else does, and you can always go back and edit it later on.

One social media platform that has been working well for me is LinkedIn.  This is the case because my business is really about serving other businesses.  Since LinkedIn is a Professional Network, where businesses go to connect, it has proven to be a really good place to be.

As you probably already know, keywords are important to your success in showing up online.   Keywords are important when you are optimizing your website, but they are equally, if not more important, when updating your profiles.

Here are three places to consider adding your keywords in your LinkedIn profile:

  1. Your Professional Headline – be more specific than “Owner of XYZ company”
  2. Summary – Professional Experience and Goals – include keywords when describing the skills  and services, you and/or your company have provided in the past and your goals moving forward.
  3. Summary – Specialties  – this is a good place make sure you use your keywords when describing the different services that you specialize in.

If you use the tips about you should see an increase in the number of people who have viewed your profile.

Be sure to come back and share your success!

Happy networking,

I have had the opportunity over the last six months to speak at a variety of events, from classrooms and workshops, to association dinners, and entrepreneurial women groups.  When I began, I was definitely stepping a long way “out of the box.”  I was completely out of my comfort zone, and really wondering if I was going to be sharing something that these groups already knew.

On Saturday I had the pleasure of facilitating a workshop at the Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s Leadership Conference. I realized while you may hear the same information from several individuals, one person might explain it in a way that you just “get.”  Walking away from any workshop or seminar with even just one piece of information that you didn’t know before,  or was presented to you in a different way, is well worth the price of admission (whether paid, or just in time spent).

Looking forward to my next speaking engagement.

Good luck to all the incredible students that attended the workshop ” Networking & Your Online Presence!”

Are You Trading Hours for Dollars?

Where are you at with your business currently?  Are you now at the stage, or closely approaching the stage of  not having any more  hours to trade?  Have you reached your own self-imposed salary cap, even though you thought that by working for yourself the sky would be the limit?

Many of  us hit that same barrier and eventually decide that it is time to expand our reach, our offerings, and more importantly our partnerships.   These partnerships can be in the form of joint ventures, collaborating on information products or seminars, or offering affiliate programs.  No one can do this alone, at least not for the long term.  If you want to get ahead, it’s time to check your rolodex and begin looking for someone you can partner with that will help you both  move forward.

Isn’t it time to stop trading hours for dollars?

For some people it appears that things come very easy.  No matter what they always come out on top, or so it seems.  But I imagine in most cases they are like those bands dubbed “overnight successes.”  It was through hard work, perseverance, consistency and tenacity that they finally achieved the goals that they set out to achieve.

Can you relate to the “overnight success” comment?  What did you have to go through before you got to the level of success you were looking to achieve? And, once you achieved  your goals, did you stop and celebrate your success, feeling very satisfied with where you were at…. or did you celebrate your sucess and set your sights on a higher goal?

Please share your “overnight success.”

Well, here it is, the middle of August, and I still haven’t spent any time improving my website.  The good thing is that I have been busy with my clients’ website, social media and SEO, but nonetheless, it is important that I get back on track. I am making a promise to, at the very least, add one post a week… feel free to hold me to that.Smile I will also be adding testimonials and look forward to featuring my clients and partners beginning in September.

I look forward to sharing my experiences with you as we move forward.

Have a wonderful weekend.

I love what I do!

It was such a thrill yesterday to take a trip over to Salt Spring Island, just off of Victoria BC.   I had the priviledge of meeting one of my clients, Lynda Monk, owner of Creative Wellness.  She has an incredible business that we are going to be working on today.

I always find it so neat to finally meet someone that you have only connected with by phone and email , and yet  still have built an incredible relationship with.  It was like we had met before, and I felt so welcome.   I am staying in a little cottage and woke looking out over Fulford Bay.   Even though the weather was not what I ordered, it is beautiful. (more on this later).

I’m excited to get started today and love the partnership that I can form with my clients.

Enjoy your day!

Building My Website

by Tracey

After almost 2 1/2 years in business where I have helped others grow their online presence with a new or updated website, I am finally getting around to building my own website.  It always seems that when we are in a place of supporting others that we seem to ignore ourselves or our businesses.

My goal for this site it to assist you in determining if partnering with someone to help you grow your business is the right fit for you, as well as providing some insight I have acquired from partnering with my clients.

I am looking forward to receiving feedback on my site as it evolves.  Please let me know what you would like to see, questions you would like answered  and information you think I might find interesting or useful in partnering with my clients to achieve their goals.
